Yahoo! Top Searches of 2008

Yes, she did it again…

For seven of the past eight years, Britney Spears still emerges as top online searches at Yahoo! this year. Yes, guys and gals – not even the charisma of the top politicians of the hour such as the first African-American President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or even the death of Dark Knight’s Heath Ledger weakened the glitter of the drama-prone Pop Princess in 2008.

Ironically, second place goes to World Wrestling Entertainment’s soap opera chaos in the WWE stages that keep the faithful followings searching for mixed martial arts’ move and virtual wresting action online. Barack Obama on the other hand placed 3rd overall as he made history on every turn when he won a nail-biting race as the official Presidential nominee of the Democrat party against New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and then again, for defeating John McCain in the national election.
