The third fast track event in the ongoing Miss World has ended with loads of excitement and adrenalin rush as the Miss World Sport fast track award was at stake! Alexandra Helga Ivarsdottir, representing Iceland in the 2008 Miss World Beauty Pageant, was yesterday crowned Miss World Sportswoman 2008 (better known to many pageant enthusiasts as Miss World Sport) and received her trophy from Marc Batchelor, South Africa football striker at Glenburn Lodge, Muldsersdrift. First runner-up went to Adaeze Chinenye Igwe from Nigeria while Andreia Rodrigues Condesso from Portugal was proclaimed second-runner up. Misses Greece, Israel and Peru rounded up the magic six of the grueling sport competition competed by over 100 contestants.

Ivansdottir, a 21 year old psychologist student is now guaranteed a chance to compete in the semi-final round of competition on the 58th Miss World Beauty Pageant on December 13, 2008 at Johannesburg, South Africa.

Next fast track event is Miss World Talent 2008 on December 7, 2008. Just like the three prior sub-pageants, the talent winner will also have a fast-track ticket that will automatically land the lucky girl to the top 15 at the pageant night.
