Hotel Review: The Richmonde Hotel
The Richmonde Hotel lobby

The Richmonde Hotel lobby

As I have told you a way back, yours truly was so busy during the holiday season due to a lot of errands I did for my younger sister’s wedding. Part of the tasks I have done was to secure a place to stay near the church. To tell you honestly, hotel hunting in December was a pain since most of the hotel I preferred were fully booked until February 2009. Luckily, I have found The Richmonde Hotel.

Here is my review:

Location
I personally like this hotel because it is so near to SM Megamall and Shangri-la Plaza Mall. The 5 minute walk was super okay and it saved my family a lot of cash for taxi fares too. Since we stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights, the proximity also gave us a lot of options to eat in the malls during lunch and dinner time.

The staff
The Richmonde Hotel’s staff have a natural flair of hospitality and courteousness. The hotel may be a little small but the impeccable manners of the employees I met there from the reception area up to the roving guards at night are something to rave about and can surpass even the plush hotels around the metropolis.

The Lobby
The hotel’s lobby is not as spectacular as the Shangri-la Hotel or the Renaissance Hotel. In fact, Richmonde’s lobby was quite small. But hey, this is a 3-star hotel so don’t expect too much about this thing okay?

I love the homey feel of the lobby since it just reminds me of my parent’s old home ‘only more glorified‘ due to a lot of fancy furnishings.

The Rooms
We stayed in 2 rooms (rooms 1705-1706) which connects a junior suite and a superior room because all the 2-bedroom suites were booked during the holiday season. The size of the rooms were pretty okay and has a European appeal. I also loved the fact that a mini-kitchen was provided in the junior suite as it has given me the liberty to reheat the food I have bought from the malls. I am also so glad too that the hotel offers a nice bathroom that can match any Makati hotel’s fancy bathrooms.

The Food
My family and I only availed of their breakfast buffet so I can’t say much about their lunch and dinner offerings since we were always in Megamall during those meal hours. However, if you will ask me if they are serving quality food,  I can truly say yes because the breakfast buffet we have enjoyed there were healthy and sumptuous! Notable food served were the ‘assorted cheese and hams’ and the usual breakfast meals of corned beef, sausages and french toasts. The brewed coffee was good too.

Overall, I can definitely say that my family and I enjoyed our stay in The Richmonde Hotel. The things I have noted about were truly commendable so I can recommend this hotel too if you are considering a place to stay within the major malls here in Manila or you are a balikbayan looking for a place to chill out while in the Philippines.

Cheers,

In 2003, I stayed at Edsa Shangrila. They have a very nice bar at the lobby, we did not go out at all, I was invaded by my college friends then and the party went all the way up to my room. When I discovered Discovery Suites, I fell in love with the place and would stay there from 2004 and many times over that I must have befriended everyone at the Spontaeity Bar upstairs haha even social climbed with one of the managers.

Sometime in 05, I booked my brother there at Richmond and another cousin from California. Even my friends love the place. I forget their price, but it’s a really nice hotel. You won’t believe it, but at the price that we’re paying, they’re much much fantabulous inside compared to like Holiday Inn or Days Inn here in Philadelphia which is around $125/nite. Now, that price is already Discovery Suites. Alam mo yon? So, quite honestly, I do am proud of the much much improvements of our hotels there. Not very turd world kawntri no more.

Hello Reynz, I have to agree with you na marami na ring improvements ang hotel industry dito sa Pinas. Discovery Suites is okay too.

    Reply from Snow
*lol* :)

    Reply from Snow

Haven’t been there.

Arrggh… :)

Anyway, enjoy the rest of the week!
