Bb. Pilipinas 2009 Pageant now officially kicks off!
Bb. Pilipinas 2009 pageant now officially kicks off! Posted above is the video of the 24 contestants. They were publicly presented to the media by the Madam Stella Araneta and Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc (BPCI).
This year’s batch is quite exciting as the bevy of beauties include models, flight attendants, an aspiring TV/movie actress, a former Bb. Pilipinas 2nd RU, the usual balikbayan beauties, a former reality TV show contestant and college coeds among others.
Early standouts are:
#2 – Carishiela Kuijpers : a Filipina Dutch model who in mid-2008 won a model search for an international beauty brand in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
#3 – Richell Angalot aka Rich Asuncion : a GMA 7 TV contract star whose gain to fame was when she placed as one of the finalists of Starstruck, GMA Network’s star search reality show.
#4 – Gizelle Rivamonte : from Quezon City who competed at last year’s Miss Philippines Earth pageant
#6 – Bianca Paz aka Bianca Villamorez : a Balikbayan beauty from Los Angeles, CA. She is an aspiring model who has publicly admitted being the girlfriend of GMA actor Polo Ravales.
#10 – Priscilla Navidad: 19 year old deaf beauty from Davao. Represented Mindanao at the 2007 Miss Teen Philippines where she was chosen as 1st RU. Her claim to fame and stardom was when she was chosen to be among the housemates of the highly popular Pinoy Big Brother – Teen 2008 Edition.
#12 – Regina Hahn: pretty, charming mestiza beauty from Makati. An AB Foreign Service graduate of Ateneo de Manila University. Said to be the daughter of Miss Universe 1975 4th RU and Bb. Pilipinas Universe 1975 Rosemarie ‘Chiqui’ Brosas-Hahn.
#13 – Sandra Inez Seifert : a fashion and commercial model who has modeled around the world. She was a runner up at the tender age of 15 in the 1998 Elite Look Philippines Model Search.
#15 – Pamela Bianca Manalo : a fashion model and a domestic flight attendant for Philippine Airlines. This tall (5′9 1/2″) looker is a dead ringer for actress Carmina Villaruel. Her elder sister, Katherine Ann Manalo was Miss World 2002 semifinalist and Bb. Pilipinas World 2002. An aunt (the sister of her mother) , Nini Ramos is the first Bb. Pilipinas International titleholder.
#17 – Marie Ann Umali : another of the bevy of mestiza beauties at this year’s Bb. Pilipinas. She was a Bb. Pilipinas 2007 semi finalist. A Hotel Restaurant Management student at DLSU – College of St. Benilde.
#20 – Melody Gersbach : a Filipina German beauty who is the reigning Miss Bicolandia.
#23 – Barbara Salvador: a popular Philippine fashion and commercial model who has a degree in communications from the prestigious Ateneo de Manila University.
#24 – Abigail “Abby” Cruz: another GMA 7 TV network contract artist who was chosen as 2007 Bb. Pilipinas 2nd RU. She is the girlfriend of frequent and favorite Bb. Pilipinas Pageant host, GMA exclusive star/host Paolo Bediones.
I’ll be posting the complete list of contestants sometime soon and will definitely keep you posted as it seems that everyone is getting excited over this year’s edition because there are notable standouts and interesting girls who have joined.
