Chip Tsao’s Apology: An Innovative Alibi
Apology or Alibi?

Tsao: Why would you visit Philippines now?

Though Hongkong national Chip Tsao has given an apology to the Filipino people, I still find his remarks racists and very unclassy. The damage has been done. And when I say damage – it means ‘MAJOR DAMAGE‘. Period.

There is not even a way that he can reverse the demeaning words he thrown to the Filipino people. The article was harsh and done in a very poor taste. He should have thought about it first before he published it. What hurt me the most is the fact that he is a fellow Asian, this added salt to my already wounded heart. Ouch!

I agree with Roy that the apology does not look like an apology at all. The so-called apology is more like an alibi to me rather than admission of guilt from Tsao. Come on guys, from the first article that he written, the nation of servants meant very different from the definition of servants in his apology. It does not even take a genius to figure it out!

What irritated me the most is the fact that he assumed we misunderstood his satire. How convenient! So now, it means that we wronged him? Wow, what a remarkable way of reversing the table, huh?

Then…

There are news that Chip Tsao would like to pay a visit to the Philippines. What???

Hey, are you thinking rationally? Or you just thought that we can just forgive and forget your wrongdoings in an instant?

Or rather…

You just thought that as your servants  we don’t have the right to deny the master even when hurtful words are thrown to us?

I guess not, I guess not.

innovative alibi is more or less similar to creative outburst. maybe they’d come up with some transcendental definition of “servants”.

Chip Tsao is a bigot, plain and simple. He may have apologized for all his words, but the damage has been done.

Yesterday we were in a Filipino gathering and I saw several guests there who looked like they were Chinese people, and I felt a stirring of hate for them. The effect of reading C.Tsao’s article. And this really disturbed me.

Do the other Pinoys feel this way as well now? Or is it just my weird self?

As the saying goes, the damage has been done. However, it’s sad that some politicians are riding on the issue.

I think it’s ok to forgive but not forget. Anyway, I cannot feel his sincerity.

I guess it’s a good lesson to any foreigner that Filipinos are always ready to fight for their rights.

    Happy Easter too.

  14. We can blame this guy for writing that. A lot of people through the corner of the world recognize Filipino as servant of all kind of works.

Lets us blame to our rich citizen for unequal distribution of wealth
