Hollywood Screen Goddess Angelina Jolie has dethroned Talk Show Queen Oprah Winfrey by becoming the world’s most powerful celebrity in the annual list compiled by Forbes Magazine. Listed below is this years’ Top 10:
1. Angelina Jolie
2. Oprah Winfrey
3. Madonna
4. Beyonce Knowles
5. Tiger Woods
6. Bruce Springsteen
7. Steven Spielberg
8. Jennifer Aniston
9. Brad Pitt
10. Kobe Bryant
So, how do they measure the celebrity power?
Forbes Magazine measure the power of these celebrities based on money and fame. The business magazines also estimate the celebrities’ earnings from films, television shows, endorsements, books and other entertainment ventures. All of these factors are calculated between June 2008 and June 2009. Figures were rounded off where appropriate. Sources include Billboard, Pollstar, Adams Media Research, Nielsen SoundScan, Nielsen BookScan, Nielsen Media Research and SNL Kagan. Fame is calculated using Web hits on Google Blog Search, TV/radio mentions on LexisNexis, overall press mentions on Factiva and the number of times a celebrity’s image appeared on the cover of 25 consumer magazines.
