Mayon Volcano Rumbles Again: Philvocs Raises Alert Under Level 2
Majestic Mayon: May erupt again soon...
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvocs) has raised the alert level of Mount Mayon from 1 to 2. This was confirmed via radio announcement last Friday, July 10.
Based on the observations, it seems that the country’s most active volcano is rumbling again while emitting steam and the summit crater shows signs of strong glow that can be seen through the naked eye.
Philvocs authorities also verified that the frequency of the volcanic earthquakes has increase on Mayon indicating the possible movement of magma below the surface that could lead to ash explosions and ultimately eruption.
Close to 500 people residing around the area has been evacuated so far.

I wonder if an eruption from Mt. Mayon would make the Earth a bit cooler… Just asking.

Talaga? I wasn’t aware of this, hindi na kasi ako updated sa balita. I’ve been to Mayon 3 or 4 times and it’s indeed one of our country’s beautiful tourist spots. I hope its beauty wouldn’t be marred, when an if it erupts again.

I hope the eruption will become more a tourist attraction rather than a disaster. It’s great to shoot a volcano erupting magma and lava, as long as there is a safe place to do it.
