Bataan Death March: Retold in a Profound New Book
A new book entitled ‘Tears in the Darkness: The Story of the Bataan Death March and its Aftermath’ was launched by authors Michael Norman and Elizabeth Norman in America.
The Normans, who are husband and wife, interviewed hundreds of American, Filipino and Japanese combatants. The book was reportedly took 10 years to finish.
Associated Press’ Richard Pyle described the book as:
…an extremely detailed and thoroughly chilling treatment that, given the passage of time and thinning of ranks, could serve as popular history’s final say on the subject.
