Venezuela Wins Miss Universe 2009 Title…Again!

Miss Universe 2009 has finally concluded with another Miss Venezuela as the winner – marking the first time in the history of Miss Universe that two contestants from the same country have won the title in consecutive years. It was also the sixth Miss Universe crown for Venezuela. Stefania Fernandez, an 18-year-old bested 83 other candidates in August 23 in the picturesque Paradise Island on Atlantis in Nassau, Bahamas. Each contestant was judged in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview as they vied for the coveted title.
Miss Dominican Republic, Ada Aimee De la Cruz, is named as the 1st Runner-Up, 2nd Runner-Up is Miss Kosovo Gona Dragusha, 3rd Runner-Up is Miss Australia Rachael Finch and 4th Runner-up is Miss Puerto Rico Mayra Matos. Miss China Wang Jingyao is chosen as Miss Photogenic, while Miss Thailand Chutima Durongdej is named Miss Congeniality.
So what can I say?
To be honest, I am still disappointed with the fact that no Asians were included in the Top 15 this year. Latinas were only noticed every single year but elegant Asians were becoming wallflowers in the pageant.
I also hope the Miss Universe Organization would read my rant now as there is no diversity in this recently concluded pageant!
Come on MUO, almost half of your delegates are from Asia and yet you haven’t found a single one that can be included even in the Top 15? That looks impossible to me. ~shrug head~

Naku Ciara nainis nga ako eh, walang Asyana. Kay gaganda pa naman nung mga entries ngayon. Cool ka lang at may Miss World, Miss International at Miss Earth pa naman.
