Filipino Actor Johnny Delgado Dead at 61
RIP Johnny Delgado
Award winning Filipino actor and writer Johnny Delgado (real name: Juan Marasigan Feleo) succumbed to cancer and died yesterday, November 19. The veteran actor passed away at exactly 1:20pm after a long battle with lymphoma, or cancer of the immune system. He was 61 years old.
Delgado gained popularity for being a part of Goin’ Bananas, a television gag show in the 1980s. His notable role was in the family drama Tanging Yaman, where he won the FAMAS and Metro Manila Film Festival Award for Best Actor in 2000.
The actor is survived by his wife, actress-filmaker Laurice Guillen, and their daughters, opera singer-theater actress Ana Feleo and TV/film actress Ina Feleo.
Johnny Delgado’s remains have been transferred to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine (near Broadway Centrum) in New Manila, Quezon City. Interment will be at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City on November 24.
Honestly, I’m deeply saddened by the news. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
Rest in peace Mr. Johnny Delgado. Philippine Showbiz is now not the same without you.
