Philips-Van Heusen Buys Tommy Hilfiger for $3 billion
Philips-Van Heusen, the clothing firm that owns Calvin Klein and DKNY, announced yesterday (March 15) that it would buy Tommy Hilfiger, a leading preppy American clothing for $3 billion, in cash and stock.
It has also been reported that Mr. Hilfiger will no longer holds the management role at the company that bears his name. But, the 58-designer will stay with the company as its ‘principal designer and visionary’.
