Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete Wins Miss Universe 2010
The 59th edition of the Miss Universe beauty pageant has finally ended with Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete as the winner. The 22 year old model and student is the second Mexican winner in the history of the pageant. Her state director Lupita Jones won the first crown for Mexico also in Las Vegas last 1991. Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez from Venezuela crowned the winner at the end of the glittering pageant.

So what can I say?
As expected, a Latina wins the Miss Universe crown again and judging from the format of the pageant, the tiara seems so elusive to Asian candidates!
Anyway, thank you Venus Raj for clinching the 4th spot for the Philippines. Being in the top 5 position is an accomplishment already as you are the only Asian delegates among the 15 semifinalists. Cheer up girl, you did a very good job because you also ended our longest drought in the Miss Universe beauty pageant.
