Miss Rio Grande Bodine Koehler Peña was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2012 during a glittering pageant held at the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis Ferré in San Juan on November 7, 2011. The 19 year old top model will represent her country in the Miss Universe pageant in 2012. Bodine is of Dutch and Dominican ancestry and speaks four languages. Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2011 Viviana Ortiz crowned her successor at the end of the event.

The 1st runner-up was Vanessa de Roide, Miss Carolina, who will compete in the Miss Intercontinental 2012 pageant; Gabriela Berríos from Toa Alta was the 2nd runner-up and will represent the Island in the Miss Supranational 2012 competition in Poland; Jennifer Guevara, Miss Arroyo will go to Miss Continente Americano 2012, and Miss Aguas Buenas, Nadyalee Torres, will compete in Top Model of the World.
