Reports say that Claudine Barretto went hysterical yesterday (October 25) when she failed to withdraw a large amount of money at a bank in Quezon City as there are no longer funds left in her joint account with her husband, Raymart Santiago.

According to Claudine’s lawyer, Atty. Maranan, her client was even able to confirm from the teller the amount in her joint account 30 minutes before it was taken via “inter-bank withdrawal” and it’s not yet confirmed who is responsible.

Something is fishy huh?

But then again – who wouldn’t get upset if a large amount of money is missing? Rumor has it that around P5 million mysteriously disappeared.

Mark Madoff, the older son of disgraced financier Bernard ‘Bernie’ Madoff, was found dead of an apparent suicide Saturday on the second anniversary of his father’s arrest. He was 46 years old.

Madoff’s attorney released this statement:

Mark Madoff took his own life today. This is a terrible and unnecessary tragedy. Mark was an innocent victim of his father’s monstrous crime who succumbed to two years of unrelenting pressure from false accusations and innuendo. We are all deeply saddened by this shocking turn of events.

Bernie Madoff was arrested two year ago today for orchestrating a $65 billion Ponzi scheme and is serving a 150-year prison term in North Carolina.

Mark and his brother Andew, who both worked for their father, claimed that they have no knowledge of his crimes. However, the sons along with Bernard Madoff’s brother and five directors were sued by the trustee covering the asset for Madoff’s victims.

CNBC’s TV Show ‘American Greed’ goes behind bars to take a look at the life of Bernard ‘Bernie’ Madoff, a former non-executive chairman of the Nasdaq stock market and once known as the King of Wall Street. The fallen American stock broker is now serving 150 years at Butner Prison in North Carolina for stealing billions of dollars from innocent clients and for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in the history.

The show will take a look into the life of  Madoff inside the bars in North Carolina nicknamed “Camp Fluffy”, for its spacious environment and soundproof prison cell. Interestingly, the prison also provides periodic ‘special treat’ like popcorn and cotton candy for the prisoners.

The documentary show also have an exclusive interview from the point of view of a former prisoner, a current inmate and victims’ attorney.

The episode, titled ‘Madoff Behind Bars’ will premier tonight in the US at 9pm Eastern time. The episode will also be shown in other continents on the following dates below:

The 29-year-old Hilton appeared with the iconic look at the MyStudio last night to promote her new fragrance named ‘Tease’.

Philips-Van Heusen, the clothing firm that owns Calvin Klein and DKNY, announced yesterday (March 15) that it would buy Tommy Hilfiger, a leading preppy American clothing for $3 billion, in cash and stock.

It has also been reported that Mr. Hilfiger will no longer holds the management role at the company that bears his name. But, the 58-designer will stay with the company as its ‘principal designer and visionary’.

Angelina has beaten Jennifer again!

Angelina Jolie is the top earning actress in Hollywood, pocketing $27 million last year according to a Forbes.com study. Jolie, a UN humanitarian and a mother of 6 leads the pack due to her profit share in the movie “Wanted” and a large upfront payment on another action thriller movie “Salt”.

Jennifer Aniston came in close second with $25 million. She earned a huge paycheck from her movie “Marley & Me” and the upcoming film “The Baster”. The actress also earns from her residuals from “Friends” and for being a spokesperson of Glaceau’s SmartWater.

Meryl Streep was the third-highest paid actress with $24 million courtesy of her successful film Mamma Mia. While, Sarah Jessica Parker came in at fourth with $23 million. Perky Cameron Diaz rounds-up the top 5 with $20 million paycheck.

The rest of the Top 10 includes Sandra Bullock and Reese Witherspoon (both with $15 million), Nicole Kidman and Drew Barrymore ($12 million each) and Renee Zellweger ($10 million).

Forbes tallied the actress’ film payments and cash they made from clothing brands, perfumes and other sources to come up with the list.

Wow, well done ladies!

But from the looks of it, the Angelina Jolie vs Jennifer Aniston battle in everything doesn’t come to an end in Hollywood! Hmmm….
