Privacy freaks beware as Google, Yahoo and Bing integrated the real time search results on their pages!

So, if you have joined social media networking sites such as Plurk, Twitter or LinkedIn – prepare to find yourself on the web as those social media sites are automatically “indexed”. Therefore, watch out for those who posts private messages on your Facebook walls as these information can be seen by employers or potential employers and may harm your chances in getting a job or promotion.

Here is a step-by-step guide if you want to hide your Facebook profile on Search Engines:

1. Go to your Facebook profile’s “Settings” page
2. Privacy settings > Search
3. Toggle the option that allows indexing under Public Search results no

This is a good choice if you want to keep your Facebook profile private because if you don’t, all information posted will be exposed online. Please bear in mind that once your information is “cached”, it’s next to impossible to remove them because search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo have already indexed it.

Now, here is a step-by-step guide if you want to adjust your search privacy settings:

1. Go to Settings
2. Then, click Privacy Settings
3. Go to Privacy Settings>Privacy
4. Find Public Search Results
5. Then, uncheck: Allow Indexing

Neopets: The World of Neopia

Do you still remember the first thing you did when you started using the Internet?

As for me, I can still vividly recall it because my internet moments all started with Neopets! Yep, this is where I learn how to play A LOT of online games. I did that by playing Neopets’ virtual games while on a long break. My favorites were the Destruct-O-Match, Pawkeet Slots, Chia Bomber and Meerca Chase 

Long before I discover social networks such as  Friendster, MySpace, Facebook and before I try my luck in blogging – yours truly has been actively playing Neopets for almost 3 years.

Actually, I still play once in a while because my pet yellobelle is so dear to me. Her Neopet specie is Usul and she’s 3,144 days old.  I’m also at Level 31 at this point.

Here are some facts about Neopets courtesy of Wikipedia.org:

• Neopets (originally called NeoPets) is a virtual pet website launched by Adam Powell and Donna William on November 15, 1999.

• Viacom bought Neopets Inc for US$160 million on June 20, 2005.

• The site has been translated into ten other written languages: Japanese, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Spanish, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Dutch and French.However, Neopets announced on 1 January 2009 that the Italian, Japanese, and Korean areas of the site would no longer be updated.

• Neopets is set in the themed lands of the fictional world of Neopia, which has its own calendar and timezone running concurrent with the real-world Pacific Time. It also has its own economy and stock market based around the Neopoint. Players earn Neopoints through various means including playing games and selling items. Once earned, they can be invested or used to buy various goods and services.

Matt Damon

Matt Damon is the latest celebrity to fall victim to dead rumors.

In fact, there is a rumor going on right now that Matt Damon was found dead in California’s Palo Verde mountain area on Wednesday, and ‘according’ to the recent ‘news’:

Damon, who was officially reported missing Friday, was on a camping trip. His body was found by an Imperial County Sheriff’s Department deputy on Wednesday.

But in reality, Damon has been overseas attending the Venice Film Festival this week and promoting his upcoming film “The Informat.”

Hmmm, looks like we should not believe everything we read in the internet nowadays as some people really have the ‘fun’ of making up stories just for a laugh!

I have also observed that most of the hottest Hollywood stars are being reported ‘dead’ gazillion of times.

I now wonder who will be the next victim of this ‘internet prank’ tomorrow! *LOL*

Claire Forshaw, a care assistant and an artist from Manchester, has officially changed her name to Princess-Rainbow.com, making her the first person to change her name by Deed Poll to a Web domain. The name change cost less than $20!

The 24 years old newly named Princess-Rainbow.com told the press that:

I knew that if ever I got the chance I would change [my name] to a web domain, to hopefully become the first. My boyfriend has always told me it cost hundreds of pounds to do, so I just forgot about it….

When I realized it actually cost as little as £10 my boyfriend said that Princess-Rainbow.com was ideal for me because I am mad on rainbows!

Owning and naming herself Princess-Ranbow.com is definitely a dream come true for the former Miss Forshaw as she plans to use her namesake web domain to set up an online business selling artwork.

And I quote:

With her boyfriend buying the web domain – she surely had a lot of moral support!Hmmm, now I am wondering what is the middle name of their children if ever! Would it be .com?!?!?

Oh well, it is not my problem anymore!

Power.com has sued Facebook, a San Francisco based aggregator of social networking sites, on Friday. The new player in networking site sued Facebook in a California court to try to resolve who owns data on social networking websites — users or the sites.

The small Web company named Power.com lets users simultaneously access several social networks, including MySpace and Twitter. But Facebook did not join the bandwagon and disallowed Power from doing so. In fact, Facebook filed a lawsuit against Power over it last yer.

Facebook said it will fight a countersuit filed by Power.com, saying the company puts Facebook’s member information at risk.

It has been reported that a serial killer is on the loose in Boston, USA using Craigslist as the source of getting his victims. Apparently, the creepy killer is posing as a masseuse for ladies who wants to have his service. Then, he will  rob the poor victims and kill it right after.

Donald Trump’s Miss USA Organization is now looking for a new beauty queen this 2009. Last year winner was Crystle Stewart from Texas who competed against our very own Jennifer Barrientos in the Miss Universe 2008 Beauty Pageant.

Interestingly, contestants this year will be wearing Jessica Simpson’s fabulous bikinis. Wow, the girls may have a Daisy Duke vibe going while competing in the pageant!

For seven of the past eight years, Britney Spears still emerges as top online searches at Yahoo! this year. Yes, guys and gals – not even the charisma of the top politicians of the hour such as the first African-American President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or even the death of Dark Knight’s Heath Ledger weakened the glitter of the drama-prone Pop Princess in 2008.
