American talk show host Oprah Winfrey regained the title of the most powerful celebrity alive, beating Hollywood screen goddess Angelina Jolie who fell to No. 18 in this year’s Forbes Celebrity Power 100 List. The celebrity rankings are based on earnings in the past 12 months (June 1, 2009 to June 1, 2010) and visibility across print, television, radio and online. Here is how the Top 10 rounded out:

1.    Oprah Winfrey: $315 million
2.    Beyonce Knowles: $87 million
3.    James Cameron: $210 million
4.    Lady Gaga: $62 million
5.    Tiger Woods: $105 million

Prominent movie and television manager Douglas Quijano was found dead at  his resthouse in Lucban, Quezon. He was 64. The respected figure in the local showbizness was found lifeless on the bed and apparently died of cardiac arrest.

Justice for Ruby Rose Barrameda-Jimenez!

Ruby Rose Barrameda-Jimenez has finally been found by her family on June 10, 2009. Her dead body was found courtesy of a key witness. The search also left her sister (actress Rochelle Barrameda) and parents in tears as the police recovered the body in a mafia-style manner. Ruby’s body was pulled through in an unexpected burial site, stuffed in cemented metal box at the bottom of the river somewhere in Navotas City.

My deepest condolence to the Barrameda family and may justice prevail with the gruesome death of this young mother.

Philippine showbizlandia is buzzing about Ruffa Gutierrez- John Lloyd Cruz romance. Gosh, it’s also all over the internet! And oh my gulay, even monster mom Annabelle Rama confirms about this romantic saga!

But why is it the people involved are keeping mum about the issue? Could it be because the Miss World 2nd princess has a 9 year gap with this onscreen prince charming? Hmmm…

Forbes Magazine measure the power of these celebrities based on money and fame. The business magazines also estimate the celebrities’ earnings from films, television shows, endorsements, books and other entertainment ventures. All of these factors are calculated between June 2008 and June 2009. Figures were rounded off where appropriate. Sources include Billboard, Pollstar, Adams Media Research, Nielsen SoundScan, Nielsen BookScan, Nielsen Media Research and SNL Kagan. Fame is calculated using Web hits on Google Blog Search, TV/radio mentions on LexisNexis, overall press mentions on Factiva and the number of times a celebrity’s image appeared on the cover of 25 consumer magazines.

Even the celebrity kids are hot commodities in Hollywood!

Forbes has named Suri Cruise as the most powerful kid in Hollywood. Forbes.com, which ranked celebrity children under 5 years old, has proclaimed Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes little girl as the most influential tot in Hollywood.

Suri -  known for fashionable clothes and cute haircut, was a clear winner because she garnered more news articles and blog among her celebrity peers in Hollywood. The research poll is based on the media attention and parent’s popularity. Second spot goes Brad and Angelina’s biological daughter, Shiloh Nouvell Jolie-Pitt. While her sister and brother, Zahara and Pax ranked in 3rd and 4th place respectively.

George W. Bush is already leaving the White House but the transition process doesn’t excused him to slip away from the polls. Just recently, a new national poll conducted by Gallup suggested that President Bush is the most unpopular president since the ratings were first created in the late 1930s. In addition, CNN also reported that:

No other president’s disapproval rating has gone higher than 70 percent. Bush has managed to do that three times so far this year, says CNN polling director Keating Holland. That means that Bush is now more unpopular than Richard Nixon was when he resigned from office during Watergate with a 66 percent disapproval rating.
