Volcano Erupts near the Eyjafallajoekull glacier in Iceland

Local authorities in Iceland verified that a volcano near the Eyjafallajoekull glacier is erupting. Reports say that the first eruption happened at around 11:30pm Saturday (1930 EDT). It was the first time in many years since the volcano beneath the glacier has erupted. The last recorded occurrence was in 1821.
