It has been reported that Tiger Woods will return to play professional golf.

The announcement was revealed through his website on Tuesday (March 16). Woods said in a statement:

The Masters is where I won my first major, and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I’m ready to start my season at Augusta.

The major championships have always been a special focus in my career and, as a professional, I think Augusta is where I need to be, even though it’s been awhile since I last played.

I have undergone almost two months of inpatient therapy, and I am continuing my treatment. Although I’m returning to competition, I still have a lot of work to do in my personal life.

When I finally got into a position to think about competitive golf again, it became apparent to me that the Masters would be the earliest I could play. I called both Joe Lewis and Arnold Palmer and expressed my regrets for not attending the Tavistock Cup and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. I again want to thank them both for their support and their understanding. Those are fantastic tournaments, and I look forward to competing in them again.

I would also like to thank the Augusta National members and staff for their support. I have deep appreciation for everything that they do to create a wonderful event for the benefit of the game.

The superstar golfers’ pronouncement marks the end of his 144-day exile away from the media. This will also officially end his self-imposed break from the scandals and would give him a good start to restore his tarnished reputation.

Not all Oscar winners’ marriage is made in heaven!

It has been reported that Kate Winslet, a British actress who won an Oscar in 2008 for the movie ‘The Reader’ will  separate to her director husband Sam Mendes after six years of marriage. The award-winning actress will dissolve her marriage to the acclaimed director but sources say that it is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement.

Winslet, was married to Mendes in a beach ceremony in 2003, two years after Mendes won an Academy Award for directing his first film, ‘American Beauty’.

The couple also have a son named Joe Alfie Winslet Mendes, while Winslet has a daughter named Mia Honey from her first marriage to Jim Threapolton.

Through their London-based law firm, the couple released a statement for the press that says:

Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children.

Philips-Van Heusen, the clothing firm that owns Calvin Klein and DKNY, announced yesterday (March 15) that it would buy Tommy Hilfiger, a leading preppy American clothing for $3 billion, in cash and stock.

It has also been reported that Mr. Hilfiger will no longer holds the management role at the company that bears his name. But, the 58-designer will stay with the company as its ‘principal designer and visionary’.

Filipinos all over the world are now rejoicing for Manny Pacquaio’s triumph over Joshua Clottey as the boxing superstar has once again proven that he is one of the ‘greatest boxer’ in the world today.

However…

Lots of the Filipino people too are also ‘intrigued’ with what happened yesterday due to the following reasons:

1. The Pacquaio vs Clottey fight was not worth it. People think that the boxing match was one of the most boring boxing fights seen for Manny Pacquiao.

2. Then, rumor has it that, Arnel Pineda seemed uncompassionate while he is singing ‘Lupang Hinirang’. Apparently, some people are also raising an eyebrow because they perceived that he sung the Philippine National Anthem a la Martin Nievera!

According to Section 37 of Republic Act (RA) 8491, the rendition of the national anthem, whether played or sung, shall be in accordance with the musical arrangement and composition of Julian Felipe.

Section 20 of the law also states: “The rendition of the flag ceremony in official or civic gatherings shall be simple and dignified and shall include the playing or singing of the anthem in its original Filipino lyrics and march tempo.”

RA 8491 prescribes that any person who will violate its provisions may be punished by a fine of at least P20,000 or imprisonment of not more than one year.

As for me, I find his performance okay enough but I also somewhat agree with some of the detractors that he had changed the melody of the ‘Lupang Hinirang’ quite a bit, most specially during the last few lines.

But anyway, I still think that it is 100% better than Martin Nievera!

Kris Aquino announced today in ‘The Buzz’ that she saying goodbye to the show. Her announcement happened right after the end of Ruffa Gutierrez’ taped interview.

In their segment POV, Kris Aquino was very emotional and tearful with her statement.

She pointed out that she might say farewell as her brother’s candidacy is always dragged into any issues that she is hooked on. However, she also hinted that she might be back right after the election period.

Oh, well…

So sad to hear that Kris as I am going to miss your opinions and gorgeous dresses.

Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquaio has beaten Joshua ‘Grand Master’ Clottey.

It has been reported that the Filipino pound-for-pound boxer retained his WBO welterweight title by a unanimous decision.

Sources say that Clottey started tremendously defensive but Pacquiao managed to punch Clottey strongly throughout the game. News and reliable sources also reported that the Filipino boxing superstar dominated the match leaving Clottey with few strategies while fighting.

The boxing match lasted for 12 rounds wherein Pacquiao threw 1231 punches against Clottey, 399.

Well done, Manny. Mabuhay ka!

Mel Beckham, one of my dearest friend in the blogosphere had an ‘unhappy experience’ while visiting your fast food chain in Cagayan de Oro and Davao City.

The gurl discovered that you have already replaced the special sauce of ‘Jollibee Chicken Barbecue’ with just plain toyo mansi.

Now, my dear friend is so sad and I think it is valid.

Hey…

How can we eat your famous Chicken Barbecue now without that ‘barbeque sauce’ in your dish? Has anyone from your end tried the dish with the plain toyo mansi or the regular gravy?

Well, I personally tried it and I do agree with Mel that it doesn’t give a customer the same level of happiness while muching on the barbecue chicken.

So, I beg you dear Jollibee.

Bring back that barbecue sauce please!

Casey James caught my eyes this Season 9 of the American Idol as I find this country-soul singer a possible star in the future.

Here are the reasons why:

• Though, not an obvious candidate for the win, he is seemed to be the fans’ favorite.
• Hollywood loves that gorgeous looks! He reminds me so much of my eternal crush, Brad Pitt! *blush*
• His look is easy on the eyes and his voice blends well with his guitar.

And lastly…

Casey James can be a good replacement for the gorgeous country singer Keith Urban considering the latter is now married to Nicole Kidman. ~LOL~

Oh well…

I personally believe that Casey James will go far with or without the ‘American Idol Season 9’ title just like Jennifer Hudson.

So, in the meantime – let’s all wait and see how he croons the adoring fans like me.

Last Sunday (March 7), it has been reported throughout the showbizlandia that Ruffa Gutierrez has been ‘bullied’ by Kris Aquino at their talk show ‘The Buzz’. According to my Facebook feeds and Twitter tweets, Ruffa was seen leaving the studio of ABS-CBN and decided not to end the show.

Actually, this news did not come to me as a surprise as I have been watching their show for some time now and I must agree with the others’ perception that Kris Aquino has been making sudden spiels even though Ruffa Gutierrez is still doing her chatter.

But from my point of view, this issue shouldn’t have been big. It was just full-blown into proportions because:

1. Kris Aquino always makes headlines because she is Kris Aquino period. People are fascinated with her as she is tactless.
2. As we all know, Noynoy is running for presidency so his detractors are surely trying to make a ‘field day’ out of it! They wanted it to appear as a bad publicity for Noynoy Aquino because he is the brother of Kris.
3. And lastly, Ruffa Gutierrez’ fans and critics just made a big deal out of it as the former beauty queen is going to TV5. That’s it!

So pleeasseee, let us all chill!
